Executive Director Ken Fee

Ken is the Executive Director of the Regal Chess School Miami which runs chess clubs in 18 local public, parochial, and private schools in Miami. This is his 29th year directing youth chess clubs. Ken is also the Director of The Miami Chess Club and has coached numerous individual State and National Champions.

 

While helping you to win at chess, we also focus on having fun and good sportsmanship. We look forward to working with you on your chess endeavors.

Coach FM Alejandro García

Coach FIDE Master Alejandro Garcia grants vital importance to the understanding of the basic strategic fundamentals, the detailed analysis of the games and the development of tactical skills, pattern recognition and calculation of variations. Always combining theoretical study with practice. Coach Garcia is a Chessmaster and teaches chess at private and public schools in Miami. Alejandro also teachers  one on one lessons in person and online worldwide! He even has a student from down under in Australia.

Coach Rey Alfaro

Coach Rey is a graduate from Pinecrest Preparatory High School. He is a high rated USCF Tournament player and Tournament Director. You will see him at True North Chess Tournaments. He enjoys teaching chess to youth. Rey also teaches chess at numerous private schools, Miami Parks and Rec., and the West Kendall Regional Library on Saturdays.

Coach Kevin is a high level United States Chess Federation tournament player. He was the Captain of his High School Chess Team. Kevin teaches chess at numerous private schools in Miami.

Coach Zen is a high rated online tournament player. He is originally from Japan. He enjoys working with beginning students.

Coach Abigail enjoys casual chess and played competitively in Elementary School. She teaches chess at numerous private schools in Miami. She enjoys teaching at True North on her days off from her full time job.

Coach Tyara Pinela

Coach Tyara enjoys working with youth. She has experience as a full time preschool and aftercare teacher. She has also tutored Elementary students in English. She was the first female chess club president at her high school chess club. Coach Tyara teaches for Miami Parks and Rec and numerous private schools.
